St. Maria Goretti open house

St. Maria Goretti High School at 1535 Oak Hill Ave. in Hagerstown is holding an open house Sunday, Nov. 22, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.

Camp Joy-El retreat

GREENCASTLE, Pa. - CBM Ministries will host a junior high retreat at Camp Joy-El, Friday, Nov. 20, to Sunday, Nov. 22. The retreat is open to all students in grades 6 to 9.

The theme of the retreat is "Keeping Your Faith Afloat."

John Bayer, junior high coordinator at Camp Joy-El, has planned a pirate night Saturday evening to underscore the theme.

The cost of the retreat is $45.

Financial aid workshop

SMITHSBURG - The counseling center of Smithsburg High School will present a college financial-aid workshop featuring Herm Davis, author of "Financial Aid for Dummies," Tuesday, Nov. 24, at 7 p.m. in Smithsburg High School auditorium, 66 N. Main St. in Smithsburg.

College loan information will be provided by Hagerstown Trust Co.

All Washington County parents and students interested in learning how to complete the necessary forms to qualify for financial aid may attend.
