FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. - Pennsylvania State Police charged a man and a woman with simple assault and other offenses after a shot was fired during a fight Sunday morning.

The police report said Kelley Powell, 32, of Fayetteville, was charged with simple assault, making terroristic threats, recklessly endangering other people and harassment after the 6 a.m. incident at a mobile home on Perry Drive in Greene Township, Pa.

Teresa Gervasio, 32, of Chambersburg, Pa., was charged with simple assault and harassment, police said.

According to the report, Powell and Gervasio got into a fight in which Powell was pushed through a window. The report said a shotgun was fired through the north wall of the home, which was in the direction of a nearby house.

Both received minor injuries and both were released on bond, according to police.

FREDERICK, Md. - Maryland State Police were investigating the theft of a piece of construction equipment from Interstate 70 eastbound near Frederick on Monday.


Police said a 1998 Ditch Witch vibratory plow fell from a tractor-trailer on the interstate at about 6 a.m.

The driver of the tractor-trailer was unable to stop because of traffic, police said.

The driver returned three hours later and found the equipment had been stolen.

Police said the item is valued at $10,000.

A Toyota Tercel was damaged while parked atthe Prime Outlets at Hagerstown front parking lot around 8:45 p.m. Friday.

Washington County Sheriff's deputies said the rear window was smashed on the car owned by Amy Marie Sharer, 20, of 343 N. Cannon Ave.

Damage was estimated at $200, deputies said.

INWOOD, W.Va. - West Virginia State Police discovered a back door of a pharmacy was smashed after responding to the store on Sunday for a breaking-and-entering call.

A subject fled from Patterson's Drug Store in Inwood in a red Geo Tracker, according to Berkeley County Magistrate Court records.

A car fitting the same description was found parked in the Demco store in the Inwood East Plaza, police said.

Christopher E. Pierce, 23, no fixed address, was charged with giving false information to a Department of Public Safety member and attempted breaking and entering, according to court records.

Money stolen from Wendy's

Maryland State Police were called in Saturday to investigate the theft of $205 from Wendy's Restaurant on Sharpsburg Pike.

Believed to be an "inside job," the money was taken from three different registers, police said.

Home, truck burglarized

Thieves who broke into a residence Sunday at 8613 Sharpsburg Pike took a $500 black and silver Fuji mountain bicycle, Maryland State Police said.

Also on Sunday, two Maryland tags were taken from the back and front of a Ford truck parked on Eastern Boulevard, state police said.

Bike stolen

An orange Suzuki dirt bike valued at $250 was taken Sunday during a break-in at 9720 Garis Shop Road, according to Maryland State Police.

A lock was cut, police said.

CD player, jackets stolen from vehicle

The owner of a vehicle parked Saturday in the 1100 block of Fairchild Avenue returned to find thieves had stolen $2,395 in property, Hagerstown City Police said.

Taken were a CD player, two jackets, a flashlight, a toolbox and tools.

Pa. man injured when car hits house

MARION, Pa. - Pennsylvania State Police said a Shippensburg, Pa., man suffered minor injuries Friday when a car struck a house at an intersection in Guilford Township, Pa.

The police report said the accident occurred at 2:40 a.m. when a 1984 Chevy Chevette was westbound on Swamp Fox Road, ran a stop sign at the intersection, crossed the road and hit the home of Shirley Baker at 5123 Molly Pitcher Highway.

Police said the driver left the scene on foot.

Harold Miller, 29, of 200 Shippensburg Road, was later found walking along Interstate 81 and was taken to Chambersburg (Pa.) Hospital for treatment.

The accident is under investigation, according to police.
