AMBERSON, Pa. - Pennsylvania State Police said a horse was killed Friday morning when it was struck by a vehicle on Pa. 641 in Fannett Township.

The report said Aaron Cisney, 24, of Blairs Mills, Pa., was traveling west about a mile and a half east of Amberson at 1:45 a.m. when he hit the horse with his 1998 Chevrolet Silverado. Cisney was not hurt, but the horse had to be destroyed, police said.

The report said the horse belonged to Daniel Stoltzfus, of Willow Hill, Pa., but did not explain how the horse happened to be on the roadway.

FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. - A Fayetteville man was charged with burglary and theft of a motor vehicle after an incident Friday morning in Greene Township, Pa., according to Pennsylvania State Police.


Travis E. Finks, 19, was also charged with driving under the influence, driving on a suspended license, receiving stolen property, criminal mischief and several traffic violations, according to the report.

At 2:45 a.m., police said a trooper saw a red 1990 Chevy Z-24 leaving the parking lot of East Point Auto Sales, 2118 Lincoln Way East, at high speed. The trooper tried to stop the car near Mont Alto Road, but the driver turned onto that road and then onto Turner Drive before stopping.

The report said Finks was arraigned before District Justice Larry Meminger.

MARION, Pa. - Pennsylvania State Police said a Shippensburg, Pa., man suffered minor injuries Friday when a car struck a house at an intersection in Guilford Township, Pa.

The police report said the accident occurred at 2:40 a.m. when a 1984 Chevy Chevette was westbound on Swamp Fox Road, ran a stop sign at the intersection, crossed the road and hit the home of Shirley Baker, 5123 Molly Pitcher Highway.

Police said the driver fled the scene on foot. Harold Miller, 29, of 200 Shippensburg Road, was later found walking along Interstate 81 and was taken to Chambersburg (Pa.) Hospital for treatment.

The accident is under investigation, according to police.
