Woman's belongings put on street

November 07, 1998

A Hagerstown woman charged earlier this month for leaving her four young children unattended overnight in a flea and lice infested apartment was evicted this week, the city's building inspector said Friday.

The belongings of Jodi Marie Faith, 22, were left on the sidewalk in front of the 215 E. Franklin St. apartment since at least Thursday, said Mike Heyser, building inspector.

Heyser said he wasn't sure whether the belongings were still lice and flea infested, but was trying to reach the management company to remove them from the public walkway.

He said he would make sure the apartment is no longer infested with lice and fleas before allowing it to be lived in again.

The four children, ranging in age from 3 to 5, were taken into protective custody by the Washington County Department of Social Services after Hagerstown City Police found them in the apartment on the morning of Oct. 15.
