A Hagerstown man was killed in a motorcycle accident in Orlando, Fla., on Saturday.

Jason B. "Buck" Buchanan, 23, of 16238 Broadfording Road, was the son of Donald L. and Jenny Buchanan of Hagerstown.

Buchanan was living in the Orlando area while attending the Motorcycle Mechanics Institute, according to his mother.

She said he was training to become a certified Harley Davidson mechanic.

Buchanan said her son was well-known in the community for creating unique haircuts for area athletes while working at the family-owned West End Barber Shop.

Jason was sought after for his ability to shear school emblems or sayings into a persons hair, she said.

"He was popular with all the youngsters in the West End for all the artwork he did," she said.

He worked at the West End Barbershop for five years with his father, she said.

A 1993 graduate of Clear Spring High School, Jason pursued a lifelong interest in sports, she said.

He was involved in coaching Little League Baseball and played in the Blue Ridge Adult Baseball League.

He was engaged to Shawn M. Knapp of Hagerstown.
