Kids Voting program seeks volunteers

October 15, 1998

Can you spare two, three or four hours of your time on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 3?

Kids Voting, sponsored by Allegheny Power, needs volunteers to help students learn about the election process, the candidates and the issues.

On Election Day, kids go to the polls with their parents and cast their ballots, assisted in the voting process by more than 500 local volunteers.

Washington County's first Kids Voting effort in 1996 attracted more than 9,000 students to county polling places.

In order to provide a Kids Voting experience at all 43 of Washington County's polls this year, more volunteers are needed - both organized groups to adopt polling places and individuals to serve as ballot runners/gatherers.
