Heilig-Meyers Furniture

Heilig-Meyers Furniture appointed Lewis A. Gerson manager of its Hagerstown location. Gerson, a Richmond, Va., native who has worked for the company for six years, last served as manager of the chain's Milwaukee location.

Also, Hagerstown native Clif Barnhart has been named warehouse manager of the Hagerstown store, which is one of more than 850 Heilig-Meyers Furniture stores across the country, including two in Maryland.

L.S. Grim Consulting Engineers

L.S. Grim Consulting Engineers, at 41 Summit Ave. in Hagerstown, has announced that a residential project which the company worked on was featured in the August issue of Architecture Magazine.


L.S. Grim was retained by Fernau and Hartman Architects of Berkeley, Calif., to provide mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering services for the 8,000-square-foot residence of former West Virginia Governor Gaston Caperton near Shepherdstown, W.Va.

Leslie Scott Grim, principal engineer for the firm, is licensed to practice in Maryland, West Virginia, Virginia, Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey and Washington, D.C.

Mack Trucks

LEHIGH VALLEY, Pa. - Mack Trucks Inc. has announced the appointment of three new regional sales and marketing vice presidents.

Dennis G. McDaniel, 40, of Peachtree City, Ga., has been named vice president - southeast region. McDaniel has been with the company for 12 years, serving most recently as district marketing manager for the southeast region.

Michael D. McNally, 49, of Randolph, N.J., has been named vice president -northeast region. McNally, who most recently was district marketing manager for the northeast region, has been with Mack for 26 years.

Jeffrey L. Yelles, 49, of Kingwood, Texas, has been named vice president - central region. Yelles has been with the company for 22 years, serving most recently as district marketing manager for the southwest region.

The Animal Health Clinic of Funkstown has recognized Pam Snyder for completing the Hills HealthCare Connection, which stresses nutritional education as well as client service.

Penn State Mont Alto

MONT ALTO, Pa. - Penn State Mont Alto has welcomed Tracy Nornhold to its faculty as an instructor of occupational therapy.

Nornhold most recently worked at Genesis ElderCare Rehabilitation Services as a staff occupational therapist and the student education coordinator.

Her other experience includes teaching at Alvernia College and acting as the occupational therapy clinical specialist in mental health for the Polyclinic Medical Center.


CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - David Hanan, of Chambersburg, recently joined Mantec Inc., The Manufacturer's Technology Center, as district manager for Franklin and Adams counties and the Hanover and Shippensburg area in Pennsylvania.

As district manager, he will coordinate Mantec's services and regional initiatives for small and medium-sized manufacturers in the region.

Mantec helps manufacturers in Southcentral Pennsylvania to adopt modern technologies and business practices so they become globally competitive.

Harold and Ruth Eby and Sam and Mary Jane Funk, representing Eby's Lawn & Garden in Hagerstown, received the Blue Leader Award for outstanding Dixon ZTR mower sales achievement at the annual national Dixon dealer meeting in Tulsa, Okla.

Ford Motor Co. is providing vans to transport sick and disabled veterans to and from Veterans Affairs medical facilities for care.

As part of Ford's continued commitment to the Disabled American Veterans nationwide Transportation Network, the company is donating the use of twelve 1998 Ford vans, including one for the Veterans Affairs Medical Center near Martinsburg, W.Va.


Waynesboro Area Human Services Council

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - The Waynesboro Area Human Services Council has recognized Jeffrey Reeder, of D.M. Evans Distributing; and Rick Bostic, of the Waynesboro Country Club for again giving the council the proceeds of the Coors Light Antietam Glass Pro-Am Golf Tournament.

The money helps Waynesboro-area residents with food and clothing, rent, utilities, medical costs, fans, school supplies, information and referrals.
