For people who want to quit smoking, the Washington County Health Department offers free classes, said Nell Stewart, coordinator of the Stop Smoking Program.

The program is made up of eight sessions - two a week - during a four-week period, Stewart said.

Morning and evening classes are available.

A support group meets at the health department on the first Wednesday of each month from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
