HARPERS FERRY, W.Va. - The public is invited to attend a ceremony and reception celebrating the transfer of property from the Civil War Trust to Harpers Ferry National Historical Park at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, at the School House Ridge battlefield site.

The trust is a nonprofit organization devoted to the preservation of the nation's endangered Civil War battlefield lands. Headquartered in Arlington, Va., the 25,000-member trust has spent $5.5 million to preserve more than 6,500 acres of battlefield land in 24 states.




SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. - The Station at Shepherdstown will hold a public meeting from 9:30 t 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, at the station on Audrey Egle Drive, Shepherdstown, to receive information from teh community abouat provision of medical service at the station in the future.

The information received will be used to formulate a plan for medical service at the station. The plan will be presented to the community at a future meeting.

The discussion will be led by Dr. David Robinson, a member of the Shepherdstown Town Council and of the station's Board of Directors.
