MERCERSBURG, Pa. - Kyle Fields threw for 227 yards and four touchdowns to lead Mercersburg Academy to a 41-6 win over Fairfield on Saturday.

Matt Kranchick had six catches for 142 yards and three touchdowns for the Blue Storm (2-1). Heath Vink had the other touchdown catch. Trevor Baumgartner rushed for 72 yards and a touchdown, while Eddie Brown added 56 yards and a score.

Goretti 3, Clear Spring 0

Allison Palank scored twice, and Claire Anderson also scored to lead the No. 5 Gaels (7-3). Shannon Murray assisted on Anderson's goal, and Erin Costello assisted on one of Palank's goals for Goretti, which outshot the Blazers, 29-4.

North 2, Brunswick 0

Meagan Verdeyen and Michelle Fitzgerald scored goals to lift North to an MVAL victory over Brunswick Friday night.

Jackie Salvagno added an assist for the Hubs (5-2-1, 2-2-1).

Erin Ross recorded the shutout with three saves. North outshot Brunswick, 28-4.

Mercersburg Ac. 3, Goretti 0

MERCERSBURG, Pa. - Lauren Bolte served up 17 points, including three aces, and added eight kills and five blocks in Mercersburg's 16-14, 16-14, 15-6 victory.

Angie Cornelius added nine kills for the Blue Storm (5-0). Hannah Chambers and Julie Sanicola each had 10 assists for Goretti (5-4). Jennifer Piccolomini and Mandy Hoffman each added seven kills.

McConnellsburg 2, Fairfield 0

MCCONNELLSBURG, Pa. - Jeremy Reed and Nick Wolfe scored goals on assists from Chris Crouch and Josiah Deshong, leading No. 9 McConnellsburg over Fairfield.

Goaltender Eric Kerlin recorded five saves to notch the shutout for McConnellsburg (7-1-1). The Spartans outshot Fairfield, 19-8.

Chambersburg 4 Susquehannock 0

GLEN ROCK, Pa. - Pat Munson recorded his sixth shutout of the season as No. 4 Chambersburg defeated Susquehannock.

Munson had five saves in goal, while Ashley Mills, Nate Richards, Dustin Martin and Ryan Hess lead the scoring with one goal each for the Trojans (9-1). Kyle Staley and Andy Guyer each added an assist.

St. James 3, Flint Hill 0

ST. JAMES - Steve Bumby had one goal and an assist as St. James shut out Flint Hill.

Jamie Holzapfel added a goal, while Rohan Chandra also scored on assist from Kyuho Kim. Matt Meany added an assist. Peter Mundey had six saves in goal for the Saints (4-2).

Blue Storm wins 5-team meet

MCCONNELLSBURG, Pa. - Mercersburg Academy's Javier Arregui fired a 74 at Great Cove to take medalist honors.

Mercersburg finished with a team total of 307 for the victory. Maret finished second with 329. Flint Hill scored 346 to place thrid. Georgetown day School finished fourth with 356, and St. Andrews finished at 366.

Maret's Will Norton and Flint Hill's Taylor Delphin each fired a 75 to lead their teams.

Bracken 12th at UM meet

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Former Boonsboro and HCC runner Jared Bracken finished seventh for the Maryland Terrapins, and 12th overall, as the Terps won their home invitational.

Maryland's Faisal Hasan was first overall at 26 minutes, 1 second as the Terrapins defeated American U. for the title, 36-52. Bracken finished in 28:32.

Mount wins own meet; HCC men finish fifth

EMMITSBURG, Md. - Mount St. Mary's swept the top 5 in the men's portion of the Mount St. Mary's Invitational.

Steve Ondieki won the race in 25 minutes, 33.8 seconds, edging teammate Daniel Kinyua by .1 seconds on the 8,000-meter (4.97 miles) course. Tim Kitching, Dan Shaffer and Brian Rosenberg rounded out the top 5.

Hagerstown Community College finished fifth with 122 points. Tim Lentz led the way for the Hawks, finishing eighth in 26:52. Tim Mason was 13th (27:11), Tom Funk was 41st (28:34), James Lowrie was 42nd (28:37) and Doug Oates was 46th (28:47).

George Mason University edged Shippensburg 49-57 for the women's title. Mount St. Mary's was fifth (120) and HCC finished eighth (198).

Heather Moul, an open runner, finished the 5,000 meter (3.1 miles) 18:42. Stacy Stoner (19:17) of George Mason was second, followed by Megan Seefeldt (Kutztown, 19:20), Jessi Loner (George Mason, 19:21), and Rebeccah Wassner (open, 19:28).

Pam Holtzman was HCC's top finisher in 21st (21:15). Jessica Bracken was 41st (22:13), Lealia Price was 44th (22:17), Dawn Shatzer was 53rd (23:11) and Becky Walter was 69th (26:17).
