Nine face drug charges

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Nine people, four of them from Brooklyn, N.Y., were charged with drug-related offenses after borough police conducted searches Saturday night at a home and a motel.

The police report said the arrests were made as part of an ongoing investigation by the department's Crime Impact Team. At 9:13 p.m., officers executed a search warrant at 568 S. Main St. Police said that as a result of information received in that search, they raided a room at the Travel Lodge Motel, 565 Lincoln Way East, at 10:46 p.m.

Hector Irizarry Jr., 18, of Brooklyn, was charged with possession with intent to deliver crack cocaine and possession of marijuana in the raid at the house, police said.

Wade Miller, 40, of Chambersburg, was charged with possession of crack cocaine and a prohibited offensive weapon - brass knuckles - police said. Duffy Martinez, 31, and Nathan Simmers Jr., 18, both of Chambersburg, were charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.

While police were at the house, the report said two other people arrived and were charged. Victor Rhone Sr., no age available, of Chambersburg, was charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and a 16-year-old from Waynesboro, Pa., was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.

As a result of the raid at the motel, police charged Rodolfo Robinson, 26, Dieon Williams, 20, and Nyron Small, 22, all of Brooklyn, with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

According to District Justice Larry Meminger's office, Irizarry was taken to Franklin County Prison on $50,000 bond. A prison official said he was released on Monday.
