September 19, 1998

A Hagerstown man was arrested Friday night in connection with a domestic assault case involving his wife, according to the Washington County Sheriff's Department.

William Edward Dorsey III, of 11209 Scarlet Oak Drive, was charged with second-degree assault.

Sheriff's deputies and Maryland State Police officers responded to the Dorsey home at 10:45 p.m., responding to a domestic assault report. There they found Grenada Lee Dorsey crying on the front steps of the home, police said.

An argument over money and personal problems took place before Grenada Dorsey was assaulted, police said. Her injuries included a bloody nose, a bloody swollen lip, redness on the neck and a possible broken finger, police said.

Grenada Dorsey was taken to Washington County Hospital for treatment.
