The Washington County Association of Retarded Citizens and the Washington County Department of Social Services will provide services for county programs designed to help keep troubled families together.
The Washington County Commissioners voted Tuesday to award the contract for the county's Return and Diversion Program to the Washington County Association of Retarded Citizens, which promised an average monthly cost of $509.01 per client.
The program is aimed at returning children placed out of state to an in-state, said Marcia Mackley, project coordinator for the Local Management Board.
The commissioners awarded the contract for the Interagency Family Preservation Program to the Washington County Department of Social Services, which bid a cost of $5,621 per family.
