Pa. woman dies after accident

September 15, 1998

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - A Waynesboro woman died early Sunday from injuries she sustained in a two-vehicle accident Saturday night in the borough, according to Franklin County Coroner Kenneth L. Peiffer Jr.

Alma F. Biser, 81, a resident of Trinity House, 25 N. Potomac St., died at about 2 a.m. of multiple trauma in the emergency room of Waynesboro Hospital, Peiffer said.

"They were going to move her out to Hershey (Medical Center), but she continued to deteriorate," Peiffer said Monday.

Borough police said Biser was a passenger in a 1987 Plymouth Horizon driven by Anna Belle Mummert, 74, also of Trinity House.

At 11 p.m. Saturday, Mummert pulled from east North Street onto North Church Street, where the car was hit by a 1980 Pontiac TransAm driven by Donald H. Wedekind, 28, of 211 N. Potomac St.

Mummert and Wedekind both sustained minor injuries in the accident and were treated at Waynesboro Hospital and later released, police said.
