Roundup - Bowman scores double hat trick for Williamsport

WILLIAMSPORT - Matt Bowman scored four goals of his six goals in the first 10 minutes for Williamsport in the Wildcats' 10-0 Monocacy Valley Athletic League win over Catoctin on Tuesday.

Carlos Gomez added two goals and four assists for the Wildcats (2-0, 1-0). Ted Knepper and Chris Carrier each added a goal.

Goretti 2, South 0

James Cosentino and Mike Aziz each scored a goal to lead Goretti over South.

Bill Cramer recorded seven saves in the shutout. Bobby Wilhide had 13 saves for South.

Goretti (2-1-1) outshot South, 23-10.

North 11, Brunswick 0

John Muto had three goals and four assists to lead North in an MVAL match.

Lane Drummond, Jeremy Knapp and Jack Greenwald each scored twice for the Hubs (1-1, 1-0).


North won the JV match, 5-0.

Heritage 4, Faith 0

Ben Jordan and Tim LeHew each scored twice and Ryan Marquiss had an assist for Heritage Academy. Heritage (1-1, 1-1) outshot Faith, 26-5.

Grace 3, Calvary 1

Josh Barnhart scored two goals and Mark Koontz added two assists to lead Grace.

Hans Lehman scored for Grace. Simon Hoogland scored Calvary's lone goal.

B. Walsh 8, Highland View 0

CUMBERLAND, Md. - Bishop Walsh outshot Highland View Academy 15-11 en route to a win.

Bishop Walsh led 3-0 at halftime and scored five times in the second half.

Greencastle 2, East Penn 1

Nevin Laughlin and Tony Simonetti each scored a goal and Scott Seyler and Matt Meketa recorded assists for Greencastle.

Ben Pierce had 15 saves for the Blue Devils.

Chambersburg 3, Carlisle 2

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Nate Richard scored the second of his two goals with six minutes left in the second overtime to lift Chambersburg.

Ashley Mills had a goal and an assist for Chambersburg. Brody O'Farrell added an assist.

Urbana 4, Walkersville 1

URBANA, Md. - Dave Miller netted two goals to lead Urbana over Walkersville.

Joe Stephens and Terrence O'Connell each scored for Urbana (1-0-1).

McConn. 6, N. Bedford 4

McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. - Nick Wolfe scored five goals to lead McConnellsburg, which outshot Northern, 26-12.


Williamsport 10, Brunswick 0

WILLIAMSPORT - Stephanie Ritchie had four goals and two assists and Brooke Weimer added two goals and five assists to lead Williamsport in MVAL action.

Bobbi Ward had 20 saves for Brunswick.

Williamsport (1-0-1, 1-0-1) outshot the Railroaders, 36-6.

Goretti 8, South 2

Erin Ryan scored four goals and Allison Palank added two to lead Goretti over South Hagerstown.

Erin Costello and Claire Anderson each added a goal for Goretti (4-1). Goretti outshot the Rebels, 32-18.

Emily Middlekauff and Stasa Chirgott scored for South (0-1).

Walkersville 3, Boonsboro 2

WALKERSVILLE, Md. - Walkersville scored the winning goal with 30 seconds remaining in regulation, less than one minute after Boonsboro had tied the game at 2-2.

Stephanie Nicolosi scored two goals and Ashley Reeder had an assist for Boonsboro.

Smithsburg 5, FSK 4

SMITHSBURG - Kyley Thompson scored her third goal in the overtime period off an assist from Lisa Holsinger to lead Smithsburg over FSK in an MVAL match.

Julie Neumann and Heather Jenkins also scored for the Leopards (1-0, 1-0). Alyson Daughtridge added two assists.

Sindi Stem and Melissa Merson each scored a pair of goals for the Eagles.


Williamsport 3, Walkersville 0

WILLIAMSPORT, Md. - Keya Davis was perfect on serve with five aces and 12 service points as Williamsport defeated Walkersville.

Game scores were 16-14, 15-3 and 15-2.

Tina McAllister had six kills and Lettie Wilkes had seven assists for Williamsport.

Boonsboro 3, FSK 1

UNION BRIDGE, Md. - Margo Miller was perfect from the service line and added 15 digs and five kills, leading Boonsboro to an MVAL victory.

Game scores were 10-15, 15-12, 15-13 and 15-7.

Candi Ziegler had 12 digs and Katrina Woodhams had five kills for Boonsboro.

Hancock 3, Goretti 2

Amanda Bingaman had ten kills and Summer Beal had 10 assists to lead Hancock (1-0). Heidi Moats added four kills.

Game scores were 4-15, 15-12, 8-15, 15-8, 15-11.

Jennifer Piccolomini had 12 kills, Briann McManus had nine kills and Mandy Hoffman had five kills for Goretti.

Hancock won the JV match 2-0 without losing serve.

Middletown 3, Catoctin 0

THURMONT, Md. - Allison Johnson had four kills and Gretchen Morgan had three blocks for Middletown (1-0).

Game scores were 15-10. 15-13 and 15-4.

Mandy Ryder had 13 service points for Catoctin (0-1).

Middletown won the JV match, 2-0.

T. Johnson 3, Westminister 2

FREDERICK, Md. - Michelle Dorsch had five kills, 12 assists, 16 service points and nine aces to lead TJ.

Kellyann Rose recorded three kills and eight aces and Ellyse Byrd had three kills, five blocks and 12 service points for TJ (1-0).

Westminister won the JV match, 2-1.

Highland View 3, CVCS 2

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Laurelle Byrd had 27 service points and Monica Jackson scored five service points in the last game to lift Highland View Academy.

Game scores were 15-13, 15-10, 14-16, 8-15 and 15-3.
