Car hits deck of house near Smithsburg

SMITHSBURG - Two Pennsylvania brothers were waiting to appear before a Washington County court commissioner Saturday night on a number of motor vehicle and other charges after their car ran into the deck of a house near Smithsburg earlier in the day, police said.

According to Washington County Sheriff's Deputy Tim Hafer, no one was injured in the 4:46 p.m. incident. The house, at 12119 Wolfsville Road, was empty at the time, police said.

The men were identified as Tolbin J. Holbrook, 23, of 2375 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, Pa., the driver, and Charles Cleveland Holbrook, 20, of 252 Mount Cedonia Road, Fayetteville, Pa.


Tobin Holbrook was charged with DUI, reckless driving, driving without insurance, driving unregistered, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Charles Holbrook was charged with possession of marijuana,, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of alcohol by a person under 21, police said.

The vehicle involved was a 1979 Mercury, police said.
