Roads scheduled for repairs, repaving

HARRISBURG, Pa. - Three streets in Shippensburg, Pa., will be repaired this fall and U.S. 11 will be repaved in Chambersburg, Pa., next year, according to state Rep. Jeffrey Coy, D-Franklin.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation will make improvements to the following roads in Shippensburg:

HEIGHT="6" ALT="* " NATURALSIZEFLAG="0" ALIGN="BOTTOM"> Morris Street (Pa. 533) from King Street to Southampton Township, scheduled for this fall. The work will involve patching potholes and crumbling asphalt.

HEIGHT="6" ALT="* " NATURALSIZEFLAG="0" ALIGN="BOTTOM"> Old Scotland Road (Pa. 696) from Interstate 81's Exit 8 in Scotland, Pa., to Fayette Street in Shippensburg, will be repaved this fall.

HEIGHT="6" ALT="* " NATURALSIZEFLAG="0" ALIGN="BOTTOM"> Paving on Interstate 81 from exits 10 to 11 is under way at a cost of $6.6 million.

Coy also announced that PennDOT will repave four miles of U.S. 11 in Guilford Township in spring 1999. The area scheduled for repaving is from Pa. 914 in Marion, Pa., to Chambersburg. Crews will do the work at a cost of $2 million.
