LEETOWN, W.Va. - The schedule of events for the Jefferson County Fair, being held this week at the fairgrounds on Leetown Pike, is as follows:

  • Noon - Fairgrounds open to the public
  • 1 p.m. - Dairy cattle judging, fitting and showing
  • 3 p.m. - Exhibit buildings and flower show open; sheep judging, fitting and showing
  • 6 p.m. - Carnival area open to the public
  • 7:30 p.m. - Bull riding, horse show arena
  • 8:30 p.m. - Watermelon-eating contest, show barn
  • 8:45 p.m. - Water balloon toss, show barn
  • Midnight - Fairgrounds close

  • 11 a.m. - Fairgrounds open to the public; exhibit buildings open
  • 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. - Senior citizens' matinee ($1 admission)
  • Noon to 2 p.m. - Ruritan roast beef lunch special; extension homemaker bake sale
  • 3 p.m. - Beef judging, commercial and purebred
  • 6 p.m. - Carnival area open to public, $1 per ride; slow tractor race, antique tractor area
  • 6:30 p.m. - Sons of the Desert (track seats, $5 per show)
  • 7:30 p.m. - Kiddie tractor pull, antique tractor area; funny fitting and showing contest, show barn
  • 7:45 p.m. - Pie-eating contest, show barn
  • 8 p.m. - Ice-cream eating and milk drinking, show barn
  • 8:30 p.m. - Sons of the Desert (track seats, $5 per show)
  • Midnight - Fairgrounds close

  • 7 p.m. - Celebrity goat milking
  • 7:30 p.m. - Magic show by Mike Myers, show barn
  • 8:30 p.m. - Sheep style show
  • 8:45 p.m. - Pig-calling contest and barnyard chatter
  • 9 p.m. - Greased pig contests
  • 9:15 p.m. - Calf scramble
  • Midnight - Fairgrounds close

  • 7:30 p.m. -Slow tractor race, antique tractor area
  • 8 p.m. -Sale of 4-H and FFA livestock animals
  • 9 p.m. - Tractor and four-wheel drive pull, continued
  • Midnight - Fairgrounds close

  • 10 a.m. - Exhibit buildings open
  • 11 a.m. - Antique and special interest car display
  • 11:30 a.m. - Lawn and garden tractor pull, antique tractor area
  • 1 p.m. - Pet show, show barn
  • 2 to 5 p.m. - Kiddie matinee, carnival reduced prices
  • 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. - Heritage Express gospel music, show barn
  • 3 p.m. - Slow garden tractor race, antique area
  • 5 to 7 p.m. - Fair premium money distribution, large Ruritan concession stand
  • 6 p.m. - Carnival area open to public; threshing demonstration
  • 6:30 p.m. - Present awards and trophies, show barn; tractor and four-wheel drive pull
  • 8:30 p.m. - Egg toss, grandstand area
  • 9 p.m. - Exhibit buildings close
  • 9 to 11 p.m. - Karaoke, show barn
  • 9:30 p.m. - Tractor and four-wheel drive pull, continued; exhibits to be removed
  • Midnight - Fairgrounds close
