Honey plant plans approved

August 25, 1998

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - A Berryville, Va., company moved a step closer to bottling honey and salad dressing in Berkeley County, W.Va., Monday night, when the Berkeley County Planning Commission granted preliminary approval of plans for a 30,000-square-foot plant in the Berkeley County Industrial Park.

The Virginia Honey Co. Inc., which manufactures honey, molasses, salad dressings and sauces, previously said it expects to finish construction of the plant by September.

The plant will employ five workers a shift, a representative of the project told the Planning Commission.
