A Washington County grand jury on Thursday indicted a prison inmate on charges that stem from the stabbing of another prisoner last June.
Anthony Bruce, 34, faces charges of attempted first- and second-degree murder, first- and second-degree assault and reckless endangerment.
The charges stem from the June 27 stabbing of a Roxbury Correctional Institution inmate who was attacked after returning from a shower in the segregation wing.
Jerry Thurman, 23, was stabbed nine to 10 times in the left chest and shoulder area, according to RCI Warden Joseph Sacchet.
Thurman was rushed to Washington County Hospital for treatment of the stab wounds, a hospital spokesman said.
