Pa. man wounded by air pistol

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Shots from a air pistol struck a Chambersburg man and a house following a dispute at 474 Starr Avenue on Friday, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

The incident started when four people began yelling obscenities at each other, police said. As one of the people walked away from the scene, he allegedly pulled a Crossman air pistol and fired five shots toward a house, police said.

One round struck a Chambersburg man in the left arm, police said. The victim did not seek medical attention.

Dustin Sleichter, 18, of 429 Sleichter Lane of Chambersburg, and Joseph Miller, 18, of 236 W. Queen St., Chambersburg were charged with two counts each of aggravated assault, recklesslessly endangering the life of another person and harrassment, said police.

Miller had an additional charge of criminal conspiracy, said police.

FREDERICK, Md. - Police say a Frederick man, already charged with driving while intoxicated, became belligerent and allegedly assaulted two human correctional officers and a K-9 officer early Saturday.

Eric Jerome Cartnail, 24, of West South Street, was charged with two counts of second-degree assault and cruelty to animals, according to Frederick County Sheriff's Deputy Willie Ollie.

The 12:10 a.m. incident occurred at the central booking facility, Ollie said.
