Two teenagers face drug charges

Two Washington County teenagers were charged with marijuana possession after being stopped by Maryland State Police on Friday night, police said.

Police were looking for suspects in a reported knife assault in Cavetown when they stopped the pair in a 1997 Ford pickup at the McDonald's parking lot on Sharpsburg Pike.

Marijuana was discovered as the suspects were being padded down for knives, police said.

Charged were Derek J. Frey, 19, of Rinehart Road in Smithsburg, and Wesley L. Kolich, 19, of American Way in Hagerstown, police said.

Frey also was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.

The Washington County Sheriff's Department deputy investigating the knife assault could not be reached for more information.

 

City man held on assault charge

A Hagerstown man charged with assault on Friday night after his wife was struck was being held at the Washington County Detention Center on Saturday night in lieu of $5,000 bond, officials said.

Larry Eugene Golliday, 21, of 835 Rose Hill Ave., was charged around 6:20 p.m. on Friday, according to Hagerstown City Police.

Greencastle teen injured in wreck

GREENCASTLE, Pa. - A Greencastle, Pa., teenager received a minor injury on Friday night after losing control of a 1988 Ford Mustang while negotiating a curve on a wet road, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

Brent A. Lehman, 16, was westbound on Williamson Road almost a mile north of Greencastle around 10:45 p.m. when the accident occurred, police said.

The Mustang went up an embankment off the north berm, rolled over and came to rest on its wheels on the embankment, about three feet from the road, police said.

Small fire put outat Tangier Outlets

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - A small fire in a bathroom trash can at Tangier Outlets was put out by the Martinsburg Fire Department on Saturday night, a fire official said.

The outlets are off King Street.

 

Frederick man faces charges

FREDERICK - A Frederick man was charged with violating an ex-parte order and resisting arrest on Friday night, according to the Frederick Police Department.

A suspect resisted being handcuffed after police went to 400 A Sherman Ave. at 9:41 p.m. for a trespassing complaint, police said.

Once handcuffed, the man violently resisted, police said.

Ricardo L. Adams, 44, of 228 N. Market St., was being held at the Frederick County Adult Detention Center on Saturday night in lieu of $2,500 bond, police said.

 

Woman faces drug charges

FREDERICK - A Frederick woman was charged with possession of cocaine and marijuana on Friday night, according to the Frederick Police Department.

The woman was arrested by the Frederick Police Department Tactical Unit at 11:40 p.m. at the intersection of West South Street and Ice Street, police said.

Michelle Renee Barnes, 27, of the 400 block of West South Street, was being held at the Frederick County Adult Detention Center on Saturday night in lieu of $500 bond, police said.

 

Frederick man faces drug charge

FREDERICK - A Frederick man was charged with possession of cocaine early Saturday morning, according to the Frederick Police Department.

The Frederick Police Department Tactical Unit made the arrest at 12:50 a.m. in the 100 block of South Market Street, police said.

David Samuel Brown, 41, of the 400 block of South Market Street, posted $750 bond on Saturday, officials said.
