August 09, 1998

FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. - A 16-year-old Abraxas resident was charged as an adult this week in incidents in May and July in which he is accused of attacking two employees at the youth disciplinary home in South Mountain, Pa., according to court records.

District Justice Larry Pentz in Waynesboro jailed Ronald Tilghman, whose address was listed only as Abraxas, on $70,000 bail on two counts of aggravated assault and one of simple assault, according to court records.

State police said Tilghman hit an employee in the face and stabbed him in the chest with a pencil in the May incident. In July he struck a counselor so hard that he broke his nose and left a laceration that required nine stitches, according to court records.
