Driver dies after losing consciousness

HALFWAY - A driver who passed out and hit a parked car Friday later died at Washington County Hospital, the Washington County Sheriff's Department said.

The man's name was not released Friday.

At 9:38 a.m., the driver of a 1993 Buick Regal lost consciousness on Marbern Road just before the intersection of Virginia Avenue and struck a 1988 Dodge parked at Sheetz, police said.

There was minor damage to both cars, police said.

The driver apparently suffered some type of respiratory distress, police said.

Sheriff's deputies gave him cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

Lt. Jamie Drawbaugh of the Halfway Volunteer Fire Co. continued CPR all the way to Washington County Hospital, he said.

The man was pronounced dead at the hospital, police said.
