WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Washington Township Police searching for a missing person found a body Thursday morning in a wooded area, according to Franklin County Chief Deputy Coroner Jeffrey Conner.

"It was the decomposed remains of what appears to be a young male, unidentified at this time. We're waiting on dental records from Virginia," Conner said. "We have a person we're looking at," he said.

According to Conner, officers were searching a wooded area south of Pa. 16 east of Red Run Park and west of a Pennsylvania Department of Transportation storage facility. He said the body was found about 200 yards south of the road.

He said police were searching for a person who has been missing for about six weeks when they found the body at about 11:20 a.m.

Police were looking for Timothy Wyborski, 24, of 12934 Buchanan Trail East, Waynesboro, he said.

Conner said the body was found about half a mile from that address, but he would not comment on whether police believe it is the body of Wyborski.

Asked if there was a weapon found at the scene or signs of foul play, Conner said he would not release additional information until after an autopsy.

The autopsy will be performed today in Chambersburg, Pa., Conner said.
