Alternate U.S. 40 to be repaved

August 04, 1998

BOONSBORO - Alternate U.S. 40 in Boonsboro will be resurfaced through a $1.9 million project being planned by the Maryland State Highway Administration, an official with the agency said Monday.

Just over a mile of the road from Md. 68 to Md. 34 will be repaved, according to SHA spokesman William R. Park Sr.

The project, which will begin in April 2000, also includes new curbing, sidewalk, drainage and streetscape improvements, Park told the Boonsboro Town Council.

State highway officials are to be in Boonsboro on Aug. 26 to meet with town officials about the project. A public hearing is planned for September to gather input from town residents, Park said.
