Pa. girl succumbs after pool accident

HERSHEY, Pa. - A 2-year-old girl who was pulled from a swimming pool in Washington Township, Pa., Monday was pronounced dead Wednesday evening, according to the Dauphin County Coroner's Office.

Olivia L. Bowling of 6682 Slabtown Road, Waynesboro, died of cerebral swelling, according to the coroner's office. A spokeswoman at Hershey Medical Center said Bowling was pronounced dead at 6 p.m.

Bowling was found in a pool at a relative's home on Pennersville Road Monday at 1:44 p.m., according to Blue Ridge Mountain Ambulance and Rescue Squad officials. She was taken to Waynesboro Hospital and then flown to Hershey Medical Center.

Bowling was the second child in the Tri-State area to die this week in a drowning accident. On Wednesday, 16-month-old Analaurin Gabrielle Neilson, of Clover Hill, Md., was pronounced dead at Johns Hopkins Children's Center in Baltimore.

Family members found her in a residential pool on the 7900 block of Old Seventh Street in Frederick County on Monday, according to a report by the Frederick County Sheriff's Office.
