Dorothy E. Wilson

Dorothy Eileen "Dot" Wilson, 81, of 61 West Side Ave., died Tuesday, July 21, 1998, at her home.

Born Dec. 15, 1916, in Washington County, she was the daughter of the late Roy Jessie and Agnes May Stephens Demmitt.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John P. Wilson, in 1979.

She was previously employed with McCrory's for 15 years.

She was a life member of Washington Square United Methodist Church, a member of the Golden Rule Club, United Methodist Women and Ruth Circle.

She was a member of the West End Seniors.

She is survived by a daughter, Patricia Ann "Patsy" Weigand of Hagerstown; two grandchildren, Cheryl D. Weigand Ruff and Keith O. Weigand, both of Hagerstown; two great-granddaughters; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, George W. Demmitt, a twin, and Charles L. Demmitt.

Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd. The Rev. Louis L. Emerick will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial donations may be made to Washington Square Methodist Church, 538 Washington Ave., Hagerstown, Md. 21740.

Kenneth P. Mayes

RIDGELEY, W.Va. - Kenneth Paige Mayes, 82, of Carpendale, who died Saturday, July 18, 1998, is survived by three stepchildren, six stepgrandchildren and six stepgreat-grandchildren.

Mabel T. Boore

Mabel Texie Boore, 90, of 20233 Jefferson Blvd., Hagerstown, who died Monday, July 20, 1998, was preceded in death by two sons, Ernest Boore and George E. Boore; six sisters; three brothers; and a granddaughter.

Evelyn A. Cunningham

MOUNT WOLF, Pa. - Evelyn A. Cunningham, 81, of 5150 Board Road, died Tuesday, July 21, 1998, at York Hospital, York, Pa.

Born Dec. 26, 1916, in Shippensburg, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Clarence L. and Sarah A. Brinkerhoff Grove.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Lloyd Cunningham, in 1967.

She was a graduate of Harrisburg Beauty School.

She was a beautician for 50 years.

She was a guard at Letterkenny Army Depot during World War II.

She was a member of Newberrytown Church of God in Pennsylvania.

She is survived by a stepdaughter, Jeannine Morrison of Lutherville, Md.; a sister, Bernita Shaffer of Mount Wolf; a brother, Leslie Grove of Oakhurst, N.J.; three stepgrandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren.

Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. David A. Yost will officiate. Burial will be in Rose HIll Cemetery, Hagerstown.

The family will receive friends Friday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mary S. Himes

DUNDALK, Md. - Mary Sue Marken Himes, 61, of Dundalk, died Monday, July 20, 1998, at Bayview Medical Center, Baltimore.

Born June 6, 1937, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Dorothy Dixon and Arthur Marken.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Ellsworth Himes.

She attended Old Washington Street High School in Hagerstown.

She was a member of St. Rita's Church in Dundalk.

She was a member of the Women's Club.

She is survived by four daughters, Cynthia Newlin of Hagerstown, Robin Williams and Debra Myers, both of Baltimore, and Teresa Hutchinsons of Washington, Pa.; two sisters; two brothers; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Monday, July 27, at 7 p.m. at St. Rita's Church in Dundalk.

David S. Boyer

David Samuel Boyer, 78, of 211 W. Franklin St., Hagerstown, died Monday, July 20, 1998, at Washington County Hospital.

Born Aug. 1, 1919, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Max A. and Nellie Swartz Boyer.

He was employed by Fairchild Aircraft for 44 years, retiring in 1984.

He was a lifelong member of St. John's Lutheran Church. He played the trombone in the church band and in Hagerstown Municipal Band.

He attended Antioch Christian Church in Big Cove Tannery, Pa., and was superintendent of the Sunday school for more than seven years.

He was a member of UAW Local 842.

He is survived by his wife, Sylvia J. Weller Boyer, whom he married Nov. 4, 1944; a son, David Allen Boyer of Big Cove Tannery; a stepdaughter, D. Markay Hadley of Falling Waters, W.Va.; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a half sister, Virginia Gearhart.

Services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Carroll Boyer will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m.

Robert L. Durham

KEARNEYSVILLE, W.Va. - Robert Lee Durham, 43, of Kearneysville, died Monday, July 20, 1998, at his home.

He was the son of Robert N. and Evelyn Harrison Durham of Darlington, Md.

He was a retired train conductor for CSX Railroad, Brunswick, Md.
