Driver hurt when vehicle hits house

July 19, 1998

CONCORD, Pa. - A driver apparently lost control of his vehicle Friday morning and ran into a house at 24262 Path Valley Drive, Pennsylvania State Police said.

Dick M. Cordwell, 61, of East Waterford, was driving north on Pa. 75 when his 1984 Ford Bronco II drifted off the roadway and into a guardrail post, police said. The Bronco continued 60 feet off the road before striking the house.

Damage to the house, owned by Herbert Fleming, was minor, police said. No one in the home was injured.

Cordwell was flown to Hershey (Pa.) Medical Center with head injuries. He was taken to the surgical intensive care unit. He was listed in critical condition Friday night, a hospital spokesman said.
