Greencastle service news

Kimberly J. Verbanick, daughter of John J. and Chom S. Verbanick of Greencastle, Pa., has been commissioned as a second lieutenant in the Army through the Reserve Officer Training Corps program after graduating with a bachelor's degree from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Va. She will be assigned as an intelligence officer. She is a 1994 graduate of Greencastle-Antrim High School, Greencastle.

Jason R. Staggs, son of Robert E. Staggs of Greencastle, Pa., has joined the U.S. Army under the Delayed Entry Program at the U.S. Army Recruiting Station, Chambersburg, Pa. Staggs will report to Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga., for basic training Sept. 1. He is a 1993 graduate of Greencastle-Antrim High School. His wife, Tiffany Staggs, is the daughter of Eldon P. Bennett and Deborah K. Bennett, both of Greencastle.

Denver W. Walter Jr., son of Denver W. Walter Sr. of Greencastle, Pa., and Linda J. Walter of Woodbine, Md., has joined the U.S. Army Reserve under the Delayed Training Program at the U.S. Army Recruiting Station, Chambersburg, Pa. Walter will report to Fort Sill, Lawton, Okla., for basic training on July 28.

Army Reserve Pvt. Brian E. Gsell, son of Harry J. and Norma Y. Gsell, graduated from One Station Unit Training at Fort McClellan, Anniston, Ala., which included basic military training and advanced individual training. Gsell is a 1997 graduate of Greencastle-Antrim High School, Greencastle, Pa.
