Tuesday's roundup - Conococheague's Bowers throws no-hitter

Josh Bowers threw a no-hitter with seven strikeouts as Conococheague defeated Frostburg 11-1 in a District 1 11-12-year-old All-Star winner's bracket game. Andy Taylor, Derrick Keith and Bowers each had two hits to lead the winners.

Halfway 5, Oakland 1: Winning pitcher Nick Adenhart tossed a four-hitter with 16 strikeouts to lead Halfway. Tyler Jones had two hits and David Warrenfeltz added a home run for Halfway.

West End 19, American 7: Winning pitcher Glen Creary struck out 11 batters and went 3-for-3 with a grand slam to lead West End over American. David Miner also homered for the winners. Matt Armstrong hit a grand slam and Kyle Robertson homered for American.


Clear Spring 7, Valley 3: Tim Weller had two hits, including a home run, to lead Clear Spring over Valley. Josh Barnhart struck out eight to get the win. T.J. Bowser and Shawn Mullen added two hits apiece for Valley. One of Mullen's hits was a home run. Craig Henson struck out 10 in a losing effort.


Williamsport 14, Winchester 5

WINCHESTER, Va. - Winning pitcher Matt Bowman struck out nine and went 4-for-5 with three RBIs to lead Williamsport over the Winchester Cavaliers.

Rusty Tritsch had three hits, including a solo home run, Tony West had three hits and three RBIs, Ryan Acre had two hits and two RBIs and Andy Brown had two hits for Williamsport.

Williamsport 6, Brunswick 5

BRUNSWICK, Md. - Matt Bowman hit a pair of two-run homers to lead Williamsport over Brunswick in a Western Maryland District American Legion game.

J.R. Fitzwater, Tony West and Jon Kerns had two hits apiece, while Fitzwater (5-3) pitched a complete game for Williamsport (18-8, 11-15 District).

Adam Eshbaugh had three hits, including a two-run home run, and Danny Renn hit a solo home run for Brunswick.


Hagerstown Area Church Softball

Otterbein 20, Gateway 19: Todd Dunkle had four hits including two home runs to lead Otterbein. Troy Hixon added four hits for the winners.

Tri-State Fellowship 24, St. Marks 12: Todd Streett had six hits, while Smiley Jackson, Rich Hayes, Pork Wallech, Dan Fraker and Jeff Wetzel had four hits apiece for Tri-State Fellowship.

J. Beasley's Reps 25, California Microwaves 7: Dave Moss and Charlie Hutzell had four hits apiece and Ricky Maloy, Steve Presgraves, Jerry Hose, Mike Hose and Todd Caudell each added three hits for J. Beasley's Reps.

Hub City Softball League

Stouffer's 16, Freddie's 4: Donnie Stouffer hit a grand slam, Scott Berger and Mike Ardinger had four hits each and Dave Stouffer and Bill Holtzman each had three hits, including a home run, to lead Stouffer's.


All-Nite softball tournament Friday
