Lane, shoulder closings planned for I-70

July 15, 1998

FREDERICK, Md. - Motorists can expect single lane and shoulder closures along a three-mile section of westbound Interstate 70 between the Washington County line and Grindstone Run in Myersville, Md., while road crews make improvements, according to the Maryland Department of Transportation's State Highway Administration.

Work on the road will begin Monday.

The project consists of patching and resurfacing the roadway and installing new guardrails and rumble strips, highway officials said.

Single lane closures may occur between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays.

Double-lane closures may also occur between 9 p.m. and 9 a.m. on weeknights, weather-permitting, highway officials said.

The project should be completed by early fall, officials said.
