New assignments for 10 Washington County School principals and assistant principals were approved Tuesday by the Board of Education.
Also, the board named Carl W. Stark to a new principalship created at Fairview Outdoor Center.
"Most of these movements have been caused by what we call the 'domino effect,'" said Schools Superintendent Herman G. Bartlett Jr.
It started with last week's promotion of Boyd J. Michael III, principal at Hancock Middle-Senior High, to director of secondary education at the school board.
The new assignments are:

HEIGHT="6" ALT="* " NATURALSIZEFLAG="0" ALIGN="BOTTOM"> South High Principal Richard Martin will become principal of Evening High.
HEIGHT="6" ALT="* " NATURALSIZEFLAG="0" ALIGN="BOTTOM"> Smithsburg High Principal Michael Shockey will become principal at South High.
HEIGHT="6" ALT="* " NATURALSIZEFLAG="0" ALIGN="BOTTOM"> Smithsburg Middle School Principal Jeffrey Stouffer will become principal at Smithsburg High.
