Md. man missing

IJAMSVILLE, Md. - A man who has been suffering depression and ill health of late has been missing from his home since last Monday, according to the Frederick County Sheriff's Office.

William Thomas Turner, 40, of the 7300 block of Ijamsville Road, is described as a white man, 5 feet 3 inches tall, 120 pounds, short brown hair, green eyes and unshaven.

When last seen at 9:30 a.m. Monday, he was wearing a blue T-shirt and blue-jean cutoff shorts, deputies said. He may not be wearing shoes.


Turner has an eagle tattoo on his upper right arm, deputies said.

His disappearance has been classified as critical and under suspicious circumstances, deputies said.

City woman charged with assault

A Hagerstown woman was charged with assault Friday after a domestic dispute, according to the Washington County Sheriff's Department.

Stephanie Lynn Fogle, 21, of 232 S. Potomac St., Apt. 1, was charged with one count of second-degree assault, police said.

Deputy Jeffrey L. Cooper arrived at the 17500 block of Virginia Avenue at 7:05 p.m. and saw an assault in progress, police said.

The victim is Timothy Lee Kegarise, 18, of 20 Snyder Ave., Hagerstown, police said.

Fogle was taken into custody and later released on personal recognizance, police said.

Stolen rifles found in back yard of home

Someone removed four rifles from a Hagerstown home Friday, but left them in the back yard, Hagerstown City Police said.

The burglary at 612 Sunset Ave. occurred between 1:30 and 3:40 p.m. Friday, police said. The rifles are valued at $1,350, police said.


Man charged with fireworks possession

SMITHSBURG - A Hagerstown area man was charged with possession of illegal fireworks Friday night in Smithsburg after nearby residents alerted authorities, according to the Washington County Sheriff's Department.

Deputies were called to 13745 Frazier Road about 11:50 p.m. and saw the fireworks being launched, police said.

Police charged Frederick Lee Stanley Sr., 53, of 4 Downsville Road.
