The Shorebirds broke the tie when Tom McGee legged out a single, took second on a wild pitch and advanced to third on Eddie Martinez's sacrifice bunt before scoring on a second wild pitch.

Hagerstown (3-4) suffered its third straight loss as Delmarva (5-2) strengthen its hold on the second-half lead in the South Atlantic League's Northern Division.

The loss tarnished a 4-for-4 outing for Hagerstown's Mike Rodriguez, who drove in three runs.

Delmarva took a 1-0 lead in the first off starter John Sneed as Luis Matos reached on a two-base error and stole third and home.

Hagerstown tied the game in the second on Rodriguez's RBI double and took a 2-1 lead in the fifth on Luis Morilla's RBI groundout.

Rodriguez had a two-run single in the sixth and Diaz countered with an RBI single in the bottom of the inning to tie the score at 4-4.

Jeremy Halpin (7-2), the fourth of five Delmarva pitchers, took the win while South Hagerstown's Derek Brown got his 20th save. Brown allowed a run in the ninth on Mike Young's bases-loaded forceout, but Lorenzo Bagley grounded into a double play to end the threat and the game.
