EASTON, Md. - Five Washington County teenagers on their way back from Ocean City, Md., were hurt early Saturday when the vehicle they were traveling in flipped on U.S. 50 east of Backtown Road, Maryland State Police said.

Dana Keefer, 17, of Hagerstown, was in critical condition Sunday night at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, according to a hospital spokeswoman.

Keefer and two other backseat passengers were thrown from the vehicle when it overturned, police said. Justin Taylor, 17, of Hagerstown, was in fair condition at the Shock Trauma Center, the spokeswoman said.

The condition of a third backseat passenger, Joshua Williams, 18, of Williamsport, could not be determined Sunday night.

According to police, Chad Nevin McAllister, 17, of 11134 Glenside Ave., in Hagerstown, fell asleep at the wheel of his 1985 Toyota 4-Runner at about 5 a.m. When the vehicle drifted into the median strip in the westbound lane, McAllister overcorrected and the vehicle rolled several times, police said.
