Investigating troopers said Edward Shaffer was driving a 1991 Dodge Dakota pickup truck south on Md. 60 when Miller, who was driving a 1992 Buick LeSabre east on Longmeadow Road, stopped for the stop sign and then pulled out in front of Shaffer.

Goldie Shaffer was a passenger in Edward Shaffer's car, troopers said.

All the accident victims were wearing seatbelts, they said.
