Pauline J. Monn

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Pauline J. Monn, 68, of 207 Shatzers Orchard Road, and formerly of Plattsburgh, N.Y., died Tuesday, June 16, 1998, at Harrisburg (Pa.) General Hospital.

Born Nov. 10, 1929, in McConnellsburg, Pa., she was the daughter of Emmer Fittry Seville of Greencastle, Pa., and the late David Seville Sr.

She was a nurse's aide at Sacred Heart Nursing Home, Plattsburgh.

She was of the Protestant faith.

She is survived by her husband, Alfred E. Monn, whom she married in 1978; one daughter, Debra Gelwicks of Chambersburg; six sons, David Gelwicks of St. Thomas, Pa., Daniel Gelwicks of Fayetteville, Pa., Keith Gelwicks of Marion, Pa., Kelly Gelwicks and Troy Gelwicks, both of Chambersburg, and Dwayne Gelwicks of Plattsburgh; two sisters, Stella Mellott of Mercersburg, Pa., and Olive Cisney of McConnellsburg, Pa.; one brother, David E. Seville Jr. of Scotland, Pa.; three stepchildren, Tina Carlson of Ohio, Teresa Shumaker of Maryland and Terri Guyer of Mercersburg; 17 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and four stepgrandchildren.


Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, St. Thomas, Pa. The Rev. Chuck Schroer will officiate. Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg.

Visitation will be Friday from 2 to 9 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 7 to 9 p.m., and Saturday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Richard M. Leiter

CROSS JUNCTION, Va. - Richard Maxwell Leiter, 75, of 111 Masters Drive, died Wednesday, June 17, 1998, at his home.

Born May 20, 1923, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Franklin Scott and Edna McCardell Leiter.

He was a graduate of Hagerstown High School and Lehigh University.

He was owner and CEO of the U.S. Business Service Co. Inc. in Burlington, N.J., and vice president of marketing for Celanese Corp.

He was a member of Plastic Engineers and Phi Delta Theta.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy C. Fleming Leiter; three daughters, Linda Hines of Staten Island, N.Y., Midge Leiter of Portsmouth, N.H., and Susan Ippoliti of South Brunswick, N.J.; one stepdaughter, Marline May of Grand Rapids, Mich.; two stepsons, Paul Ryan of Cambrian Park, Calif., and Kevin Ryan of Placerville, Calif.; two sisters, Anna Hershey and Catherine Bowman, both of Hagerstown; one brother, Franklin S. Leiter Jr. of Hagerstown; and nine grandchildren.

Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Carroll Boyer will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Hagerstown.

The family will receive friends Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Bernita H. Henry

HARRISONVILLE, Pa. - Bernita Hope Henry, 75, of HCR 74, died Tuesday, June 16, 1998, at Fulton County Medical Center, McConnellsburg, Pa.

Born June 22, 1922, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late George and Jessie Cutchall Tritle.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Nathan R. Henry, in 1997.

She was a graduate of Hustontown High School and the former Huntingdon Secretarial School.

In her earlier years, she had worked as a secretary for the former Pennsylvania Department of Highways and the Fulton County Assistance Office. In later years, she was a homemaker.

She was a member of Center United Methodist Church, Waterfall, Pa., where she was a Sunday school and Bible school teacher. She was a member of the Women's Society of the church and was active in preparations for the church festivals.

She was one of the founding members of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Hustontown Area Volunteer Fire Co.

She is survived by one daughter, Hope Clark of Swissvale, Pa.; one son, Nathan Henry II of Harrisonville; and three grandchildren.

Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at M.R. Brown Funeral Home, Hustontown. Pastor Dave Arnold will officiate. Burial will be in Center Cemetery, Waterfall.

Friends may call at the funeral home today from 2 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Benny A. Boyer

MYERSVILLE, Md. - A memorial service for Benny A. Boyer, who died Tuesday, June 9, 1998, will be held Sunday, June 21, at 1 p.m. at his home, 3229 Ward Kline Road, Myersville. Pastor David Howell will officiate.

James E. Socks

FUNKSTOWN - James Edgar Socks, 72, of Funkstown, who died Tuesday, June 16, 1998, is survived by one half sister, Mary McCoy Fogle of Funkstown; four half brothers, Raymond McCoy, Charles McCoy and Robert McCoy, all of Hagerstown, and William McCoy of Funkstown.

He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Edna Gaynell Socks; and a half sister, Anna Mae McCoy Stockslager.
