The Leckrons

Mr. and Mrs. Earl L. Leckron of State Line, Pa. were honored Saturday, March 28, 1998, at a surprise celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary.

The reception, hosted by their children and their spouses and the Leckron's grandchildren, was at Family Life Center, Maugansville Bible Brethren Church, in Maugansville. The event was attended by approximately 185 friends and relatives.

The Leckrons were married March 28, 1948, by the late Rev. N. W. Brechbiel.

Mrs. Leckron is the former D. Jean Izer, daughter of the late Benjamin and Nora Izer. Mr. Leckron is the son of the late Russell and Celeste Leckron.

The Leckrons owned and operated Earl's Food Market in State Line, Pa., for 45 years, retiring in April of 1996.

They have two children, Sherry Moon and Nelson Leckron, both of State Line, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

The Bohrers

Mr. and Mrs. Roy E. Bohrer of Big Pool celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a luncheon at Richardson's Restaurant Sunday, March 15, 1998.

The Bohrers were married March 14, 1948, at Washington Square United Methodist Church in Hagerstown.

Mrs. Bohrer is the former Dorothy L. Slusher, daughter of the late James and Helen Slusher. Mrs. Bohrer retired from Pangborn Corp. after 36 years of service.

Mr. Bohrer is the son of Beulah M. Bohrer of Big Pool and the late Marvin Bohrer. He retired from R.D. McKee Inc. after 38 years of service.

The celebration was attended by approximately 50 friends and relatives.

The Pittmans

Dr. and Mrs. J.L. Pittman celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday, May 16, 1998, at Christ Fellowship Church on York Road in Hagerstown.

The Rev. Edward Berkey of New Jersey officiated for the renewal of their vows. Berkey was Dr. Pittman's best man at the couple's 1948 wedding.

The dinner and Couriers Trio concert was attended by 80 friends and relatives.

Dr. Pittman was pastor of Christ Fellowship Church in Hagerstown from 1983 to 1991. The church was built during his tenure.

Their daughter is Sherrill Brown of Loganville, Ga. They have two grandsons.
