Three charged in Pa. robbery

MONT ALTO, Pa. - Pennsylvania State Police have charged three people in a bungled robbery last month outside a Quincy Township tavern.

Jeremi Wayne McDonald, 20, of Anthony Highway, Waynesboro, Shona Janelle Carpegna, 19, no fixed address, and Holly Ann Mooney, 19, of Shatzer Street, Chambersburg, were all charged with robbery, criminal conspiracy to commit robbery and theft, according to state police.

At 11:45 p.m. May 23, Bradley Michael Smith, 20, of Edenville Road, Chambersburg, was attacked outside the Chaparral Tavern, 6878 Anthony Highway, according to a police report.

The report said an assailant with a .22-caliber rifle tried to rob Smith. The two struggled inside Smith's vehicle, the report said.


The assailant grabbed Smith's car keys, but left the rifle behind, according to the report.

Smith suffered a bump to the head and some scratches in the incident, police said.

In addition to the other offenses, police charged McDonald with criminal mischief and possession of drug paraphernalia, police said. Carpegna and Mooney were also charged with criminal conspiracy to commit aggravated assault and Mooney was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, according to the report.

The three were arraigned before District Justice John P. Weyman.

Bond was set at $75,000 for McDonald, $50,000 for Mooney and $45,000 for Carpegna.
