Awakened Records recording artist Eileen Edmonds will perform at 8:30 p.m. Saturday at Coolfont's Treetop House in Berkeley Springs, W.Va.

Edmonds has cultivated guitar playing, as well as her songwriting, over the years and her unique sound landed her a recording contract and a debut release of "Time to Heal." She is the youngest individual to be awarded an Artist-in-Residency Grant from the Virginia Commission for the Arts.

Wye Creek Galleries, 5305-A Jefferson Pike, Frederick, Md., will celebrate its June reception from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday in recognition of Denise E. Matuk-Kroupa. The reception is free and open to the public.

Matuk-Kroupa is a pastel artist. Her subject matter is extracted from the beauty of the Maryland landscape.

Community Living Inc. will present "Marameade of Yesteryear" from 9:30 am to 6 p.m. Saturday and "Marameade Today" from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday on the Marameade grounds, 3 miles west of Middletown, Md.


Saturday there will be a march onto the grounds from an original artillery wall. There will be a marching drill, infantry firing, dueling bands and performances by Potomac Thunder.

Sunday's events will include a fishing tournament for children, hayrides, llamas, pony rides, homemade ice cream and the music of Rags and Rivers Edge.

The cost for both days is $15 per car or $10 per car for one day.

Frederick Festival of the Arts will celebrate visual and performance art Saturday and Sunday along Carroll Creek Linear Park in Frederick, Md.

National artists and regionally known performers will offer children's theater, poetry readings, arts and crafts, storytelling, magic shows and an arts market.

Admission is $3. Children 12 and younger get in free. Do not bring pets.
