Hagerstown Area Church Softball

Otterbein 18, Chewsville 6: Larry Wisherd, Kevin Walters, Mike Johnston, Alan Weaver and Noel Williams had three hits each to lead Otterbein. Curt Graham added a homer for the winners.

Christ Reformed/St. James 20, Hagerstown Church of the Brethren 7: Lloyd Kelly and Jim Cooper homered to lead Christ Reformed/St. James. Joel Duffey homered for Hagerstown Church of the Brethren.

Bethel Assembly of God 27, Tri-State Fellowship 26: Jason Jenkins had five hits, including a homer, to lead Bethel Assembly of God. Mike Kelbaugh had five hits for Tri-State Fellowship.

Grace Bretheren 22, Christ Fellowship 10: Tim Klick had four hits and a homer to lead Grace Bretheren. Dave Odell, Robby Smith, Jody Rohrer, Kenny Shanholtz and Bud Allen each had three hits for the winners.

Diamonds In The Rough camp

The Sixth Annual Diamonds In The Rough Baseball Camp will be held July 6-10 from 8:30-12:30 at Municipal Stadium. The camp is open to boys and girls age 7-17. Cost is $90 per camper.

The camp features some of the top coaches in the area, including Phil Caruso of Frostburg State, Fred Kreiger of Boonsboro High School and John Lowery of Jefferson High School.

Last year's campers will receive a brochure in the mail this week. Brochures will also be available at area little leagues and at Municipal Stadium. For more information, call Fred Kreiger at 301-416-7314.

Mid-Maryland Volleyball Camp

The 1998 Mid-Maryland Volleyball Camp will be held June 15-19 at St. Maria Goretti.

The camp is for girls in grades 5-12 and is directed by former Williamsport High School coach Cindy Neugebauer. It will feature individual skill development as well as team concepts.

Guest instructors include Jay Heefner of Waynesboro High School, Janice Kruger of the University of Maryland, and Susie Homan of George Washington University.
