A domestic disturbance escalated into a stabbing and attempted suicide Monday morning, according to the Washington County Sheriff's Department.

Scott Edward Anders, 22, of 44 N. Locust St., was found unconscious on the floor of his girlfriend's apartment at 17421 Fair Oaks Court at 9:30 a.m. Monday, according to sheriff's deputies.

Anders was charged with attempted first-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder, first-degree assault, second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, first-degree burglary and possession of a deadly weapon with intent to injure, according to court records.

His girlfriend, Ramona Kay Albertson, 24, was stabbed in the abdomen, arm and leg, also in her apartment, according to a news release from the sheriff's department.

She was admitted to Washington County Hospital, where she was in fair condition Wednesday night, according to a hospital spokeswoman.

Anders was treated at the hospital and released into police custody, said John Costopoulos, hospital spokesman.

Anders was being held without bond at the Washington County Detention Center Wednesday night.

Hagerstown City Police were called to Anders' residence at 9:20 a.m. Monday for a report of an argument. At that time, Albertson left and went to her home in Halfway Manor, police said.

About 10 minutes later, Anders arrived at Albertson's home, police said. The first deputy on the scene found Anders unconscious on the floor, bleeding from his wrists after apparently trying to commit suicide.
