Wednesdasy's roundup: Post 202 edges Winchester

WILLIAMSPORT - Ryan Acre's two-run double capped a four-run seventh to give Williamsport Post 202 a 12-11 victory over the Winchester Cavaliers in an exhibition game Wednesday.

Acre had three hits on the night for Williamsport (4-2), which took an early lead after a seven-run third inning. Both Brian Hammond and J.R. Fitzwater had three-run homers in the frame. Hammond finished with two hits.


Federal Little League

Alsatia 16, Kiwanis 5: David Macht had four hits for Alsatia. Will Mulieri and Daniel Plank had three hits, and Cory Garver and David Stout had two hits for Alsatia. Harrison Hammond had two hits for Kiwanis.


Halfway Little League

Lions 13, Gibney's 12: Andy May had four hits, Corey Cunningham and John Hose three, and Joey Richards and Andrew Murray two for Lions. Greg Small homered twice for Gibney's.

Hancock Little League

Astros 21, A's 4: Aimee Barton had two triples, and Andrew Morris had three hits to lead the Astros. Tyler Elbin doubled and had two RBIs for the A's.

Clear Spring Minor League

Astros 12, Yankees 0: Cody McCarthy fired a no-hitter to lead the Astros. McCarthy, Aaron Mills and Derrick Mundey each had two hits.

Senior Interleague

Mr. Hardware 11, Clear Spring 1: Jimmy Whiteside homered and drove in four runs and Matt Meyer allowed just two hits over five innings for Mr. Hardware. Meyer, Jared Gordon, Daniel McFadden and Scott Ebersole each had two hits. Meyer drove in two runs.

Clear Spring Little League

Reds 12, Yankees 11: Bradley Turner went 4-for-4 with three doubles and five RBIs and Tim Weller had three hits for the Reds. Drew Holler and Dustin Dwyer homered for the Yankees.

Maugansville Little League

Brewer's Saab 16, Home Care 4: Brian Barnhart threw a four-hitter and Zeb Jacobs and Andrew Merbaugh had three hits for Brewer's Saab. Nick Jamison had two hits for Home Care.

National Little League

Pangborn 11, FOP 7: Tony Barnes and Phillip Powell had three hits, while Brandon Blahut struck out nine for Pangborn. Nathan Steelman had a pair of singles for FOP.

Conococheague Little League

Redmen 15, Byers' Market 4: Andy Taylor and Josh Bowers combined to pitch a one-hitter with 12 strikeouts to lead Redmen. Caleb Benchoff had two doubles and Tyler Beard had two hits for the winners.

Sharpsburg Little League

American Trust Bank 9, Lions Club 7: Charles Gross struck out 12 and Matt Daveler had two hits to lead American Trust Bank. William Siler had two hits for Lions Club.

Valley Little League

Rocky's 10, Pangborn 3: T.J. Bowser had three hits, including a home run, to lead Rocky's. Cody Waldron had two hits and David McSherry and Chris Brown combined to pitch 10 strikeouts for the winners. Tyler Wolford had two hits for Pangborn.

South Mountain Little League

Reeses 14, Lions 13: Jeremiah Mills had three hits and Derek Wisner, Jimmy Griffin, Ryan Keegan and Sean Rose had two hits for Reeses. Justin Short had five hits, including a home run, Wil Strahl had four hits, Kyle Kane and Quaye Barden had three hits each and Mark Ferro, Steven Baker and Aaron Dixon had two hits each for Lions.

Hagerstown Pony League

Troopers 11, Elks 7: Frank McAllister homered, Steve Heagy had three hits and Cody Hanes and Gerry Spessard had two hits apiece for Troopers. Mike Vaverchak homered for Elks.

F&M 13, UAW 2: Keith Kellinger struck out 11 for the win and Jimmy Barthel had two hits to lead F&M.

Hagerstown Colt League

Barton 10, UAW 8: Preston Semler homered and doubled for Barton, while Joel Benchoff also got two hits and was the winning pitcher.

Maugansville Senior League

Spicher's 8, Larry Allen 5: Zack Stowell had three hits, including two doubles, to lead Spicher's. Travis Yates had a pair of doubles and Chad Coles had a pair of hits for the winners. Justin Forsyth and Brian McSherry had two hits each for Larry Allen.

Halfway Senior League

Elks 19, Minnich's 9: Adam McAllister had three hits and Derrick McAllister, Eddie Martin, Travis Dunahugh and Matt Reichert had two hits each for Elks. Chris McAllister had two hits for Minnich's.

Senior Interleague

Jeter Paving 14, Redmen 7: Gary Bloyer and Eric Martin had two hits apiece for Jeter Paving. John Griffin and Regis Line had two hits each for Redmen.

Wilson Ruritan 9, VFW 5: Justin Blair and Aaron Beard had three hits each, Dustin Taylor and Todd McCall had two hits each, while Greg Yeakle struck out five to lead Wilson Ruritan. Randy Stahle had two hits for VFW.

Washington Co. Girls Softball

Richard's Wilbert 19, First National Bank 2: Nina Chiaruttini hit a grand slam and Adrienne Kesecker picked up the win with 15 strikeouts for Richard's Wilbert.
