Bridge to be closed

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - County Bridge No. 23, which provides a crossing for Loop Road over Conococheague Creek in Franklin County, Pa., will be closed for reconstruction beginning Monday. The project is expected to be complete by Sept. 1.

Construction will include widening the existing one-lane bridge to accommodate two lanes of traffic. Improvements to the bridge approaches will be completed by road crews from Hamilton and Guilford townships.

Property owners to meet in Pa.

FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. - The Franklin County Rental Property Owners Association will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the new social hall at the Fayetteville Fire Company on Main Street in Fayetteville.


The Taxpayers' Local Control Act will be discussed and officers will be elected.

Tax planning seminar scheduled

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. - The Land Trust of the Eastern Panhandle Inc. and The West Virginia Land Trust are sponsoring a tax planning and land preservation seminar from 9 a.m. to noon Friday, June 5, at White Hall, Room 303 on the Shepherd College campus in Shepherdstown.

Stephen J. Small, a tax attorney from Boston, will telecast live from Charleston, W.Va.

The seminar is offered as a continuing education credit at $90 for professionals and $50 for the general public.
