Godfather's CEO to speak at graduation

May 19, 1998

FREDERICK, Md. - The CEO of Godfather's Pizza will speak at the graduation ceremonies for the 1998 adult education class of Frederick County Public Schools.

Herman Cain will share his philosophy for a successful life at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 28, at Governor Thomas Johnson High School.

Honored by the Horatio Alger Association for achievement in the face of adversity, Cain found success by working to exceed employer expectations.

In 1986, Pillsbury promoted him to president of Godfather's Pizza. Eight years later, he became the first black president of the National Restaurant Association, through which he has lobbied for reform in child labor laws and testified before Congress on behalf of 10 million restaurant workers.
