1998 Wagon Train Schedule

May 13, 1998

Unless otherwise noted, Boonsboro events at Shafer Park and Funkstown events at Funkstown Community Park.

Friday, May 15

4 to 7 p.m.

Turkey supper - Mount Calvary Church of God, U.S. 40, Clear Spring. Cost is $6.50 for adults; $3 for children ages 6 to 10; free for children younger than 5. Turkey and all the trimmings.


6 p.m.

Wagon Train - begins at Mount Calvary Church. There will be an overnight encampment and entertainment.


7 to 8:30 p.m.

In Boonsboro - Period music by organist Jack Staley. 18th-century church service conducted by the Rev. Ken Harrington. Refreshments. Re-enactors will set up camp.


Saturday, May 16

7 to 9 a.m.

Breakfast - Mount Calvary Church. Cost is $4.50 for adults; $2 for children ages 6 to 10; free for children younger than 5.


9 a.m.

Wagon Train - Leaves Mount Calvary Church, moving east on U.S. 40 toward Hagerstown.


10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Antique tool display - Hager House, Hagerstown City Park. Call 301-739-8393.


10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

In Boonsboro - Historic walking, church and graveyard tours, meet at museum. French and Indian, Confederate and Union encampments.


10:30 a.m.

In Funkstown - Antique shops and flea market open.


10:45 a.m.

Wagon Train - Stops at Wilson's Store, U.S. 40.


11 a.m.

In Boonsboro - Civil War skirmish, juried crafters, strolling, costumed troubadour and artist.
In Funkstown - Rope tricks by Kevin Staples. Lunch stands open.


11:30 a.m.

Wagon Train - Stops for lunch at Wacohu Grange, U.S. 40.


1 p.m.

In Funkstown - Entertainment by The Harmonizers, Ellis and Peggy Duffey.
In Clear Spring - Performances by Reflections choral group and Potamac Dancers, Clear Spring High School.


1:45 p.m.

Wagon Train - Stops in front of Miller House to proclaim National Pike Days.


2 p.m.

In Boonsboro - Magic show with Michael T.
In Clear Spring - An auction sponsored by Clear Spring Blazer Band.
In Funkstown - Talent show by local children, cartoon characters and face painting.


2:30 p.m.

Wagon Train - Arrive at north end of City Park at parking lot between Hager House and Washington County Museum of Fine Arts.


2:50 p.m.

Wagon Train - Proceed to Mansion House parking lot in park.


3 p.m.

In Funkstown - Chicken Barbecue sponsored by the fire department.


3:10 p.m.

Wagon Train - Leaves City Park.


3:45 p.m.

Wagon Train - Arrives at Myersville Bank for a five-minute stop.


4 p.m.

Wagon Train - Arrives at Funkstown Park for overnight encampment. There will be food, crafts and entertainment.

5 p.m.

In Boonsboro - Civil War Battle - 27th Indiana, 3rd Arkansas.
In Funkstown - Concert by Country Seasons.


6 p.m.

In Funkstown - Concert by Country Seasons.


7 p.m.

In Clear Spring - Talent show at the high school auditorium, sponsored by Clear Spring High's Reflections choral group.


7:30 p.m.

In Boonsboro - Campfire ghost stories.


Sunday, May 17

7 a.m. to 10 a.m.

In Funkstown - All-you-can-eat pancake breakfast sponsored by West End Lions Club. Cost $3.
Between 9:30 and 10 a.m.
Wagon Train - Leave Funkstown Park, heading east on Alternate U.S. 40 toward Boonsboro.


10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

In Boonsboro - Juried crafters.


10:30 a.m.

In Boonsboro - Church services with re-enactors in the park.


11:30 a.m.

In Boonsboro - Food. Re-enactors' encampment.


Noon

Wagon Train - Arrive at Auction Square.


1 to 5 p.m.

In Boonsboro - Exotic animals petting zoo.


2 p.m.

In Boonsboro - Welcome party and square dancing for Wagon Train.


2 to 4 p.m.

In Boonsboro - Carriage rides.


2 to 5 p.m.
