Loophole plugged in noise ordinance

April 22, 1998

A tougher Hagerstown noise ordinance will go into effect on May 22, closing a loophole that excluded car stereos.

City Council members unanimously voted Tuesday to adopt a change to the noise law.

The improved law no longer exempts noise from car stereos and sound equipment and musical instruments in vehicles.
