Overdose suspected in Pa. man's death

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - A 23-year-old man found dead Saturday in his home died of a suspected drug overdose, according to Franklin County Chief Deputy Coroner Jeffrey Conner.

Conner said that was the result of an autopsy performed Sunday in Allentown, Pa., on the body of Jason Elliott Dillow of 3425 Gregway Drive in Hamilton Township.

If toxicology tests confirm the findings of the autopsy, Dillow's death would be the second fatal drug overdose in Franklin County this year, Conner said.

Pennsylvania State Police said the body was discovered by a family member at about 9:30 a.m. Saturday. Conner pronounced Dillow dead at the scene at 10:20 a.m.

The police report said Dillow died sometime after 11:30 p.m. Friday, although Conner estimated the time of death at about 11 p.m.

Trooper Gary Carter would not say whether any drugs or drug paraphernalia were found in the home where Conner said Dillow lived alone.

Both the police and Conner declined to say what kind of drug or drugs Dillow may have overdosed on.

Carter said he did not know whether Dillow had any previous criminal history related to drugs.

On Jan. 19, Mark Andrew Brezler, 20, of 192 Echo Drive, Chambersburg, was found dead in a locked room at Carson's Motel at 414 W. Loudon St.

Borough police reported at the time that drug paraphernalia and seven packets of suspected heroin were found in the room.

Conner said Brezler's death was the only other fatal drug overdose in the county he knew of this year.
