Pa. man hurt in one-car accident

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Pennsylvania State Police said a St. Thomas Township, Pa., man was injured Sunday morning when his car struck a tree while he was trying to avoid an oncoming vehicle.

Davian L. Haverstick, 22, was treated and released from Chambersburg Hospital following the 1:40 a.m. accident, according to a nursing supervisor.

Haverstick was traveling north on Loop Road near the Tallow Hill Road intersection in Guilford Township when he lost control of his 1991 Chevy S-10, which ran off the road and hit the tree, according to the police report. He told police he swerved to avoid a southbound truck that was in his lane, the report said.
